Here is a recent fully custom piece I completed and is currently on display as local exhibition in Norcross, GA.
Photo 1 Posh Frosty: This pattern for this wall hanging is by Sew Kind of Wonderful and utilizes the QCR mini ruler. Each section of this piece features a different design and color thread to coordinate with the background. The batting used for this project was 1 layer of cotton (Quilter's dream select) and 1 layer of extra loft poly. This along with dense quilting designs help each section to really pop.
Photo 2: Frosty's head: The hat (black thread) has a cross hatch design for the top and horizontal piano keeps for the brim. The hat band is quilted with a Prostitcher Design pointsetta border. The center of the flower (and later the eyes and bottons contain different block designs to fill the entire square. The petals on the flower of the hat band was left unquilted, so that they would pop. This same technique was used later on the pipe and arms of frosty. For the head of frosty, I selected Prostitcher Designs Double Swirl again in a very dense size. The nose was a a triangle maze skewed to fit into the nose shape.
Photo 3 Frosty's middle: Here I gave frosty a sweater by using the Sweater Weather design by Longarm League's Jess Zeigler. The scarf contains two different designs for each section.
Photo 4 Frosty's bottom: The design used for Frosty's lower section was Meandering Circles by Nancy Haacke Designs.
Photo 5 Background: The background design was Snowflake border by Prostitcher Designs.
